Furner Named NJCAA DII Defensive Player of the Week

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Freshman, middle blocker, Marisa Furner has been named the NJCAA DII Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts last week.

Furner was on fire as she garnered 11 block assists, five solo blocks, and seven digs in her performances against Cape Fear Community College, Fayetteville Technical Community College, and USC Lancaster.

Through 14 games, Furner currently has 49 kills, 37 digs, 18 blocks, 15 service aces, and two assists.
