Goggin Signs with McNeese State University
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA – Leilani Goggin, a member of the Richard Bland College indoor and beach volleyball teams, has signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at NCAA Division I McNeese State University, beginning fall 2024.
The Weyers Cave, Virginia native contributed to much success for the seventh year, indoor program. In her rookie campaign, Goggin led her team to a 34-3 overall record, 12-0 in conference play. The team defeated Cape Fear Community College in the Region 10 Championship match to earn an automatic bid in the 2022 NJCAA National Tournament, and went on to be named National Champions. Goggin was named 2nd Team All-Region 10 and to the NJCAA All-Tournament Team. Goggin appeared in 115 total sets and was credited with 319 kills, 36 digs, 16 service aces, six blocks, and two assists.
In her second indoor season, she helped lead her team to a 33-8 overall record, and 10-1 in conference play. The team defeated Cape Fear Community College in the Region 10 Championship match to earn an automatic bid in the 2023 NJCAA National Tournament. Leilani was named 1st Team All-Region 10. Goggin appeared in 135 sets in 40 matches, with 374 kills, 202 digs, 55 block assists, 41 service aces, 10 solo blocks, and seven assists.
During her beach play, she has been on the #2 and #1 pairings for the Statesmen during both seasons. Goggin was a member of the 2023 team that participated in the Inaugural NJCAA Beach Volleyball National Championship Tournament, helping her team to a 5th place finish nationally. Leilani was also a member of the 2024 team that completed the season as a NJCAA National Runner-Up after falling to Palm Beach State College in the National Championship.
McNeese State University is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana and is affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I Southland Conference.
