Fisher Qualifies for Three NJCAA National Events as RBC Opens 2026 at VCU Rams Indoor Invitational

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Richard Bland College men's and women's track & field opened the new year with a strong showing at the VCU Rams Indoor Invitational, highlighted by multiple top finishes and an outstanding performance from sophomore, Michaelyn Fisher, who qualified for the NJCAA Indoor National Championships in three events.

 

Michaelyn Fisher led the way, earning NJCAA National qualifying marks in the 60 meters (7.66), 200 meters (24.89), and long jump (5.76m). Fisher placed fifth in the 60-meter finals, third in the 200 meters, and third in the long jump finals to cap a dominant weekend.

So far this season, the following individuals have qualified for NJCAA Indoor Nationals in Topeka, Kansas March 6-8, 2026:

Heaven Wills: 60 meters, 200 meters

Jhourni Eason: 60 hurdles

Aniah Ross: 60 meters

Camrie Boothes: 60 meters

Kristoffer Jones: 60 hurdles, long jump, triple jump

Corey Winfield Jr.: 400 meters

Michaelyn Fisher: 60 meters, 200 meters, long jump

 

The Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field teams will next compete in the VMI Team Challenge on Saturday, January 17th in Lexington, Virginia.
