Lane Lawrence Joins Women’s Soccer Coaching Staff
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — The Richard Bland College Women's Soccer program has announced the addition of Lane Lawrence as an Assistant Coach ahead of the 2026 season.
Lawrence brings more than a decade of coaching experience across the Virginia soccer landscape, working with club, high school, and futsal programs while developing players of all ages and levels.
"We are very excited for Lane to join the program," said Head Coach, Kayla Tierney. "He will help push us to the next level both on and off the field. He brings immense value in his knowledge of the game, ability to connect with players, and his passion for coaching. Our program is very lucky to have him, and I can't wait to see his impact."
Lawrence has coached throughout the Richmond and Chesterfield areas since 2012, spending time with Chesterfield United Soccer Club before joining Richmond Strikers in 2016. He currently coaches with Richmond United and also serves as a futsal coach and soccer trainer with EVLV in Richmond. In addition, Lawrence was named Head Coach at Thomas Dale High School in 2025.
Throughout his coaching career, Lawrence has built a reputation for player development, strong communication, and fostering a positive culture both on and off the field. His experience in club soccer, futsal training, and high school competition provides a well-rounded background that will benefit the Statesmen Women's Soccer program.
Lawrence earned his degree in history from Virginia Military Institute and has also studied at Virginia Commonwealth University. He holds a U.S. Soccer D License and maintains several coaching and player development certifications, including the USC Player Performance Certification and the USYF Level 3 Futsal Diploma. He is also First Aid and Defibrillator certified and maintains current SafeSport certification.
