Eyes on the Region Title as Team Builds Toward Fall Kickoff
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Anticipation is building at Richard Bland College as the Statesmen Women's Soccer team officially announces its 2025 season schedule. With a mix of regional rivalries, competitive home matchups, and a tough road slate, the team is poised to make waves in NJCAA Region 10 play.
Coming off a season of growth and determination, the Statesmen are looking to take the next step in postseason contention. Second year Head Coach Kayla Tierney and the returning core of athletes are set to open the campaign on Saturday, August 30th with a high-energy showdown against non-conference, Region 10 Division I opponent, USC Union.
This year's schedule gives the Statesmen great opportunities to prove themselves against some of the top competition outside of the region. "I am very excited to continue building on what we achieved last year," said Coach Tierney. "The team has really bought into the vision and mission of what this program is all about, and they continue to put in the work expected of them on and off the field."
Key Matchups to Watch:
- August 28 - Season Opener vs Hagerstown Community College
- August 30 – Home Opener vs USC Union
- September 24 – Region 10 road clash vs. Region rival, Wake Technical Community College
- October 8 – Sophomore Day
The Statesmen will enjoy a strong slate of home games this fall, giving fans plenty of opportunities to catch the action at Willcox Field. Prior to the season opener, Richard Bland will host NCAA Division III, William Peace University on Friday, August 22nd in a preseason exhibition.

"Our incoming players are going to bring a new level of competitiveness and hunger, and I can't wait to see how the team grows as a group," said Tierney.
