Riggs Earns All-Region 10 Third Team Honors
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Sophomore standout Grace Riggs of the Richard Bland College Women's Basketball team has been named to the All-Region 10 Third Team, capping off an impressive 2025-26 campaign.
Riggs proved to be a consistent offensive and defensive presence for the Statesmen throughout the season, leading the team in scoring in multiple contests while serving as a steady force on the glass.
She recorded several standout conference performances, including:
- 23 points at Southwest Virginia (Dec. 13)
- 26 points and 11 rebounds against Cleveland Community College (Jan. 10)
- 22 points in a win over Southwest Virginia (Feb. 22), shooting a remarkable 8-of-9 from the field and 4-of-4 from three-point range
- 20 points and 12 rebounds at Catawba Valley (Feb. 25)
Riggs reached double figures in scoring in 20 games and consistently impacted both ends of the floor. She tallied multiple double-digit rebounding efforts, including three 12+ rebound performances, and added key defensive contributions with steals and blocks throughout the year.
Her ability to stretch the floor from beyond the arc, attack off the dribble, and rebound at a high level made her one of the most versatile players in Region 10. In addition to her scoring, Riggs contributed valuable minutes as a primary ball-handler and defender, highlighted by a five-assist, one-turnover performance at Bryant & Stratton (Feb. 18).
The All-Region 10 recognition marks a significant milestone in Riggs' collegiate career and reflects her dedication, work ethic, and leadership for the Statesmen program. For a full list of Region award winners, please view the link here: https://www.region10sports.com/sports/wbkb/2025-26/diiawards
