Kyle Fuller Named Head Cross Country Coach at Richard Bland College

Will Continue Serving as Assistant Track & Field Coach

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Richard Bland College is proud to announce the appointment of Kyle Fuller as Head Cross Country Coach. Fuller, who has been serving as an Assistant Coach for the Statesmen Track & Field programs, will continue his role with track & field while leading the cross country team into a new era of competition.

Fuller brings more than a decade of coaching experience at the high school, collegiate, and club levels, with a proven track record of developing standout sprinters, hurdlers, and jumpers. Since 2012, he has coached athletes at Virginia Military Institute, Billerica Memorial High School, White Station High School, Mills Godwin High School, Huguenot High School, Meadowbrook High School, and Central Virginia Track Club. Fuller also gained Division I experience as a graduate assistant coach at Virginia Commonwealth University under Head Coach Jon Riley.

Throughout his career, Fuller has coached athletes to conference titles, state championships, and school records. Notably, he helped guide elite talents such as Britton Wilson, a world-class hurdler and sprinter, along with numerous athletes who achieved personal bests across sprinting, hurdling, and jumping events. His athletes have consistently excelled, including performances like sub-14 second 110m hurdles, sub-22 second 200m times, and multiple national-caliber marks.

A graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Fuller earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a concentration in Writing and is a member of Sigma Tau Delta, the International English Honor Society. He holds a Virginia teaching license in Secondary English (6–12) and a USATF Level 1 Coaching Certification.

"We are excited to expand Coach Fuller's role in our department as cross country presents a great opportunity to build a strong foundation while also complementing the continued growth of our track & field programs," says Athletic Director, Scott Newton.

Head Track and Field Coach, Rashad Cannon will remain overseeing day to day operations of the men's and women's cross country programs, however, as Coach Fuller takes the reins, he will focus on athlete development, competitive success, and fostering a culture of discipline and resilience.
