Track & Field Opens Season With 9 National Qualifiers and 6 New School Records

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — Richard Bland College men's and women's track & field opened the 2025–26 indoor season with a dominant two-meet stretch at the 2025 Marlins First Chance and the 2025 SU Holiday Kickoff Open, combining for nine national-qualifying performances and six new school records.

Competing at two highly competitive December meets, the Statesmen wasted no time setting the tone for the season. From explosive sprints to breakthrough field event performances, RBC athletes delivered across the board, establishing themselves as early standouts in the NJCAA landscape.

RBC's nine national qualifiers — achieved before mid-December — mark one of the strongest season starts in program history. The six school records broken showcase the team's depth, development, and rising competitive level.

On Friday, Heaven Wills qualified in the 60 Meters and the 200 Meters, while breaking the schools 60 Meters record. Jhourni Eason broke the school record and qualified for Nationals in the 60 Hurdles, while Aniah Ross qualified for Nationals in the 60 Meters.

On Saturday, Kristoffer Jones led the way, breaking all three records and qualifying for all three events in the Long Jump, 60 Hurdles, and the Triple Jump. Camrie Boothes qualified in the 60 Meters, while Corey Winfield Jr. broke the men's 400 Meters and qualified for Nationals.
