Richard Bland eSports Continues Competition with Strong Fortnite Win

SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA — The Richard Bland College eSports team continued its fall NJCAAE competition with a strong week across multiple titles, highlighted by victories in Fortnite, Super Smash Bros., and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

In Fortnite action on October 20, the Statesmen earned a clean 2-0 sweep over College of Lake County, displaying excellent teamwork and strategy to secure the win.

On the same day, RBC's Tekken 8 competitor battled hard against Monroe Community College but came up short in a 0-3 defeat.

Super Smash Bros. competition brought a full slate of matches across both singles and crew play.

• Moses Palacios-Veverka went 2-1 in singles on October 21, earning wins over Heartland Community College and teammate Evelyn Newman after a narrow loss to Luzerne County Community College.
• Evelyn Newman competed through a challenging set of opponents, facing Northwest Florida State and Marshalltown Community College before dropping the in-house matchup against Moses.
• Robert Howard also represented RBC in singles play, falling in a close match to Heartland Community College.
• In crew play, the Statesmen battled Hutchinson Community College in a tight series, ultimately falling 1-2 in the team matchup.

Rounding out the week, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe racer Seanon Duncan secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over Finger Lakes Community College on October 23, continuing RBC's strong performance on the track.
