4th Annual RBC Athletic Awards Banquet Recap
SOUTH PRINCE GEORGE, VA —The Richard Bland College Athletics Department held its 4th annual athletic awards banquet Tuesday evening. During the banquet, each team was presented with two awards; Most Valuable Player and Coaches Award. The department also recognized one male and one female Athlete of The Year, one Team of the Year, and one Coach of The Year award. The criteria for each department award are listed below with the respective award winner.
Statesmen Scholar Athlete Award Winners:
This award is special and difficult to achieve. To receive this award, you must pass 30 credits at RBC with a 3.5 cumulative gpa. This award is focused on honoring the students who have done well in the classroom as an athlete while also completing at least half of their associates degree here at RBC. The Male and Female Athlete of the year is awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves--both in their respective sport(s) and in their academic performance. They have also have shown a commitment to Richard Bland College by being role models for the student body.

The Team of the Year Award recognizes a program that has achieved excellence both in competition and in the classroom. This team has distinguished itself through outstanding performance, consistency, and a commitment to a shared standard of success.
Beyond their results, they have demonstrated strong academic achievement and have served as role models for our department—representing Richard Bland College Athletics with pride, discipline, and integrity. Their success reflects what can be accomplished when talent, teamwork, and accountability come together.
Coach of The Year:
Rashad Cannon
The Coach of the Year Award recognizes a leader whose impact is reflected in the success and performance of their team. This honor is awarded to a coach who has guided their program to a high level of achievement through preparation, discipline, and a clear vision for success.
Through their leadership, this team has demonstrated consistency, competitiveness, and the ability to perform at a high level throughout the season. Their accomplishments are a direct result of a coach who fosters accountability, unity, and a commitment to high performance each and every day.
