"I am thrilled for Frankie to have qualified for Nationals," said head coach Bart Reiten.  "He is so dedicated to his golf game and works very hard to get the most out of it.  Frankie truly deserves to be there.  It is also a great opportunity for him to compete among the best players in the NJCAA while representing Richard Bland College on a national stage.  I couldn't be prouder of him and am really looking forward to this tournament."

Lin qualified with his 54-hole score of three-over par 72-72-75--219 to finish in a tie for sixth place at the NJCAA District 4 Championship April 24-25 at the 7,019-yard, par 72 Country Club of Brewton in Brewton, Alabama.  The All-District 4 Team honoree led Richard Bland in five of six tournaments this year, averaging a team-best and school record 73.71 over 14 rounds (252 holes) of golf.  In addition to his 54-hole record, he also owns the school record for 18 holes (68) and 36 holes (144).  Lin won three consecutive tournaments prior to the District event, including the NJCAA Region 10 Fall Championship (75-69--144) November 5-6, 2016 in Duncan, South Carolina, the Spring Eagles' Cup (75-69--144) March 25-26 in Raleigh, North Carolina and the Cougar Classic (77-77--154) April 3-4 in Spring Lake, North Carolina.  He has posted three under-par rounds (68, 69, 69) and two even-par rounds (72, 72), while finishing among the Top 10 in all six tournaments this year, including four Top Five efforts.

"I'm excited to play in the national championship," said Lin.  "My goal is to have a good start and play better day-by-day … learn from each day."
