Fellowship of Christian Athletes

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is touching millions of lives… one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ.

The FCA Vision
To see the world impacted for Jesus Christ through the influence of coaches and athletes.

The FCA Mission
To present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church.

The FCA Values
Our relationships will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Serving, Teamwork and Excellence.

  • Integrity

    • We will demonstrate Christ-like wholeness, privately, and publicly.

  • Serving

    • We will model Jesus’ example of serving.

  • Teamwork

    • We will express our unity in Christ in all our relationships.

  • Excellence

    • We will honor and glorify God in all we do.

Campus Ministry
The Campus Ministry is a certified ministry that is initiated and led by student-athletes, sponsored by coaches, supported by staff, established on junior high, high school or college campuses and meets on a regular basis and is strictly voluntary at Richard Bland College.

The types of Campus Ministry are: Club Huddle, Team Huddle, Chaplain Huddle and Coaches Huddle.

The school campus can be one of the most strategic mission fields with many youth passing through this portal. FCA focuses on equipping, enabling, empowering and encouraging student-athletes, coaches and adult leaders to impact and influence their campus for Christ.

The local FCA efforts on the Richard Bland College campus are led by Michaele and Ralph Shriver.  The local organization assists Statesmen student-athletes with special occasion and pre-game meals as well as providing monthly dinners that feature guest speakers for the group.
